Drake's Name Mention Sparks Boos From Toronto Crowd at Limp Bizkit Concert

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst wondered if fans still saw Drake as a "homie."

Drake was booed in his hometown of Toronto, Canada, when Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit mentioned he was at the nu-metal band's concert.

On Thursday, Limp Bizkit touched down in the 6 for a stop on their Loserville tour, and Durst took time out of their set to let the crowd know that Drizzy was in attendance for the show. The crowd seemed to want nothing to do with the For All the Dogs rapper, mercilessly booing when the Canadian's name was mentioned, leaving Durst at a loss for words.

"Did you know Drake's here tonight?" he said.

"I thought Drake was your homie? What? No? Drake's my homie," Durst said, trying to make sense of the situation.

That only led fans to boo Drake even more, while others resorted to hurling curse words at each mention of the Toronto artist. Durst then kept the show going and let the crowd know their "Take a Look Around" performance was dedicated to Drake, leading to even more jeers.

Drake getting booed in his own city is a shocker and many may feel his beef with Kendrick Lamar had something to do with it. However, it's important to note that Limp Bizkit's concert, which also featured RiFF RAFF, Bones + Eddy Baker, N8NOFACE, and Corey Feldman, likely wasn't the type of show that would bring out fans of the "Family Matters" artist.

Something similar happened to the 6 God at Tyler, the Creator's Camp Flog Gnaw Festival in 2019. Drizzy came out as a special guest, but fans were not trying to see him as they thought Frank Ocean would be coming out to surprise them.

Drake performed a 20-minute set, but online footage showed people were over his performance. When he did a temperature check by asking the crowd if they wanted him to "keep going," they wasted no time booing him off stage.

"It's been love. I go by the name of Drake, thank you for having me," Drizzy said before he cut his set and left the stage.
