Eric B and More Pay Tribute to DJ Polo After His Reported Passing

DJ Polo, best known for his work with Kool G Rap, has reportedly passed away.

News of Polo's death began circulating on July 27 when tributes began flooding in.

Eric B was one of the first people to pay tribute to DJ Polo shortly after his death was made public. He shared an Instagram post honoring his late friend, calling him a "brother" and promising to keep his memory alive.

"My brother DJ POLO we had some great times you will never be forgotten GODS speed," Eric B captioned his post.

Several members of the hip-hop community posted their own messages in the comment section of Eric B's post, remembering DJ Polo. Posdnuos of De La Soul asked God to bless DJ Polo and wrote, "Rest in Power." Lord Finesse shared a trio of prayer hand emojis, while D-Nice posted several dove emojis.

DJ Polo was known for his work alongside Kool G Rap as the rapper-DJ duo Kool G Rap & DJ Polo. The two men released three albums together in the late 80s and early 90s before the rapper went solo. From then on, Polo would be a force on his own and released his solo album, Polo's Playhouse, in 1998. He and Rap were also members of the iconic Juice Crew.
