DaBaby is speaking out after being presented with a fan-created painting of his daughters, making it clear he’s drawing a firm line when it comes to his children.
The situation began when an artist stopped the rapper outside a nightclub and attempted to give him a portrait of two of his daughters. DaBaby looked at the painting and ignored the fan as he went on his way. The artwork later circulated on social media, prompting DaBaby to address the moment directly during a livestream, explaining why he wasn’t comfortable with the situation.
“Y’all getting on my motherfucking nerves, talking about buddy with this painting of my two daughters,” he said. “First and foremost, I’m not the type of father that… I’m not into grown men discussing my daughters, painting pictures of my daughters, taking pictures of my kids. I don’t play like that.”
He went on to emphasize that his reaction wasn’t about disrespecting the artist, but about protecting his children.
“If you play like that, to each his own… but I don’t move like that,” he added. “I’m not accepting no painting of my daughters outside of a nightclub.”
The rapper also made it clear that he stands firmly on those principles, regardless of public opinion.
“If you feel a way about how far I go to protect them, that ain’t none of my concern,” he said.
The conversation intensified after a screenshot of the exchange made rounds online, showing DaBaby addressing the artist directly on Instagram under a post he shared about the painting. In the post, he urged the individual to remove images of his children and warned against using them to “go viral.”
