Chris Brown responded to the reception of his latest album, thanking fans for listening while acknowledging that it has received divided reactions online.

The singer shared a message to his Instagram Story over the weekend addressing criticism and feedback tied to the release. In the post, Brown said he understands the varying opinions but believes time often changes how listeners connect with his music.

"Just wanna say thank you to everyone who listened to this album," Brown wrote. "Been a lot of mixed reviews and I can take my audience's criticism and opinions."

Brown then compared the current response to reactions surrounding several of his previous projects.

"The last 3 albums have came under the same scrutiny and it eventually grew on people," he continued. "Thank you for even taking the time out to listen."

The message was accompanied by a red heart emoji as Brown appeared focused on showing appreciation to supporters rather than pushing back against criticism.

Over the years, Brown's albums have frequently sparked debate among fans and critics, particularly for their lengthy tracklists and experimental mix of R&B, pop, hip-hop, and melodic music. Despite the mixed reactions, Brown's recent albums have continued to perform strongly commercially. Projects like Breezy, 11:11, and 11:11 (Deluxe) all landed high on the Billboard charts, with 11:11 later earning Brown a Grammy win for Best R&B Album.

Songs like "Call Me Every Day" featuring Wizkid, "Under the Influence," "Summer Too Hot," "Sensational" featuring Davido and Lojay, and "Residuals" all gained strong traction across streaming platforms, radio, TikTok, and social media. "Under the Influence" in particular experienced a massive resurgence years after its original release, becoming one of Brown's biggest global hits in recent years.

Several songs from those releases also became streaming successes and fan favorites over time, such as "Call Me Every Day" featuring Wizkid, "Under the Influence," "Summer Too Hot," "Sensational" featuring Davido and Lojay, and "Residuals."
