50 Cent Regrets Hanging Upside Down at Super Bowl Halftime Show: ‘Everybody Else Walked in Regular’

50 Cent has revealed hanging upside down during the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show wasn’t a good idea, given how risky the stunt was for him and the NFL.

On Wednesday, USA Today published an interview with 50 Cent discussing his upcoming tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin’. The tour titled The Final Lap will have 50 performing tracks off the groundbreaking project, including the hit record “In Da Club,” where he famously hung upside down in the music video.

The G-Unit boss recreated the famous scene during last year’s Super Bowl halftime show alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. That’ll be the last time fans get to see it live because the 47-year-old has made it clear he won’t be doing that for the tour.

"I think that was a mistake for the Super Bowl," 50 said. "Everybody else walked in regular, the songs still went over and they got the trophy, too. They all won an Emmy. They got the same thing I got and I had to put myself upside down."

50 Cent also joked that someone should have stepped in and changed things up because if he had fallen, he would've been the butt of jokes. Fortunately, he didn’t, and the halftime show went off without a hitch.

The Final Lap Tour was announced earlier this month and 50 is looking to make it a huge event. Joining him will be Busta Rhymes throughout the entire tour while Jeremih will jump in during the North American leg. The 64-date trek will kick off July 21 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and make its way through cities such as Toronto, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, and New York.

The European leg will start on Sept. 28 and includes stops in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom, until it all ends on Nov. 12.
