G-Eazy Pleads Guilty to Drug and Assault Charges in Sweden (UPDATE)

G-Eazy just wanted to chill in a Stockholm nightclub after his tour opener.

UPDATED 5/4, 11:30 a.m. ET: According to The Blast, G-Eazy's Swedish lawyer Mikael Westerlund says the rapper was "convicted" of assault and drug possession charges but is now a "free man" with no further jail time. G-Eazy had 1.5 grams of cocaine on his person and a rolled-up $100 bill and admitted to purchasing and using the drug. He plans on leaving the country as soon as possible and continuing his European tour as planned.

See original story below.

G-Eazy’s nightclub arrest could’ve been prevented if the rapper hadn’t punched the wrong person—a security guard for the venue.

G-Eazy was arrested in Sweden after partying at a Stockholm club on Wednesday, when the rapper punched a bouncer and cocaine was reportedly discovered in his pocket after police took him into custody. At the time, all we knew was that G-Eazy had kicked off his European chunk of The Beautiful & Damned Tour featuring Young Pinch, and that he was partying with girlfriend Halsey and rapper Sean Kingston when the incident occurred. We now know that all of this—the scuffle, the arrest—was apparently caused by a classic case of mistaken identity.

According to TMZ, G-Eazy was kicking back in the VIP room of club Solidaritet when an eager fan walked up and asked for a photo. The rapper declined, and the fan came back later to try again. That’s when one of G-Eazy’s crew took the dude’s phone and smashed it, which the fan did not take lightly. A scuffle ensued, and G-Eazy took it upon himself to join in. Unfortunately, in the adrenaline-fueled chaos, G-Eazy punched the wrong person—a Solidaritet security guard.

After police arrived, cuffing and taking the rapper into custody, cocaine was discovered on his person. While G-Eazy was initially taken in on suspicion of assault, he was charged with possession and use of narcotics. According to TMZ, he’s been locked up since then with a hearing with a judge scheduled for today. This is a developing story—stay tuned.
