"This is my fucking moment to say if I wanted to rap all the time, really rap, I would. But I also love to make music. I'll do this for you right now," Drake told GQ in his July issue cover story, titled "How to Drake It in America." "But it's for me, too. It's my story... I'm trying to get back to that kid in the basement. To say what he has to say. And I'm trying to make it last."

Drake's third studio album, Nothing Was The Same, drops on September 17.

After the success of his Grammy-winning Take Care, all Drizzy fans are anxiously awaiting his next project, especially after the release of "5AM in Toronto" and, the best song of the year so far, "Started From The Bottom." He's still got the summer on lock—especially after dropping four new songs in one night last month, including the remix to Migos's "Versace," the "Jodeci Freestyle" with J. Cole, the killer cut "The Motion," and his co-sign on the OVO-signed PARTYNEXTDOOR song "Over Here."

It's been almost two years since Take Care was released, and while he's kept fans sated with guest appearances on plenty of hits, we want a new Drake album. We've heard plenty of rumors, and read tons of interviews on what we can expect. Here's Everything We Know About Drake's Nothing Was The Same So Far.

It's heavily influenced by Marvin Gaye's 1978 album Here, My Dear. He's still in Marvin's Room; he's been recording the album in the R&B legend's studio.

"It's so honest," says Drake, who's also been recording in Gaye's old studio, Marvin's Room. "He just puts it all out there."
