The days of pop sensation Britney Spears owning the stage may have come to an end.

Larry Randolph, her manager, spoke to Variety, confirming the cancellation of her Las Vegas residency. "She’s taking time to regroup and get her head together,” he said. “She’s putting herself ahead of everyone else, and I’m proud of her for that."

Randolph continued by saying, "If she never works again, she never works again. My role is to handle her career when she wants a career. If she comes back strong and full of desire and passion and wants to do it, great. If she takes off six months or six years, it’s totally fine. To me, it’s about her finding her happy place."

This sentiment echoes comments the manager gave to TMZ, saying the singer shouldn't perform "in the near future and possibly never again."

Britney was scheduled to begin her Las Vegas residency back in February, but canceled it due to her father's deteriorating health. That, in addition to her medications stopped working, created what Randolph called the "perfect storm," forcing her to ultimately cancel her residency (Billboardnotes she will miss out on millions of dollars as a result).

The singer is currently embroiled in a legal battle to loosen the conditions of her conservatorship, which she is in with her father. After her recent month-long stay at a mental health facility, she was mandated to undergo an "expert evaluation," from which she emerged onto the street in bare feet.

During the hearing, protestors stood in front of the courthouse with "Free Britney" signs, saying she should be freed from the conservatorship. Randolph is not of the same mind, as he believes the singer should be allowed the privacy to heal. "Let her be a civilian for a while,” he told Variety. "She’s given so much. Give her time."
