Nicki Minaj Confirms a Remix of "The Way Life Goes" With Lil Uzi Vert Exists

It looks like Nicki Minaj and Lil Uzi Vert already finished their collab, so what's the hold up?

This past August, Nicki Minaj posted an Instagram video of her singing along to “The Way Life Goes,” a song off Lil Uzi Vert’s then-newly released debut album Luv Is Rage 2. She captioned the video: "Ummm, Uzi better make this a single, send me the beat, and quit playin."

The news reached Uzi quickly, and he responded by reposting the video and adding a few cheeky emojis.

But that was all a long time ago, and fans of the artists have been left hanging without a remix or even news of its completion. But when Twitter user @IMAMTAYreminded Nicki of the remix, asking her where it was, Nicki had a slightly surprising answer.

Apparently, the collaboration has already happened but is being kept from the world for some ungodly reason that just proves that you can’t always get what you want.

Don Cannon, who Uzi is signed to his and DJ Drama's Generation Now label, says its not on them neither.

But Uzi remembers it differently.

Minaj and Uzi have worked together in the past, namely on “Froze,” a track on Meek Mill’sDC4 mixtape released last year. But now that Minaj and Meek are no longer an item and Uzi is a more established artist with a breakthrough hit, “XO Tour Llif3.” Whatever these two cooked up together would be definitely worth a listen. Here’s hoping whoever is holding up the remix changes their mind soon enough.
