Cardi B Announces a New Album Is Coming Next Month

Cardi B's hit "Bodak Yellow" was recently certified gold.

Cardi B rounded out her set at this weekend’s Made in America festival on Saturday with a big announcement: her full album is dropping in October.

The news first started leaking as fans began tweeting about the news after her set ended.

All in all, fans seemed to really enjoy her set.

Even Beyoncé's mother Tina Knowles showed her some love backstage. She also got to meet Queen B, too. So awesome.

Fans knew Cardi had plans to release a new album, but she didn't reveal when until today. In an interview with MTV News during the VMAs, she said, "You want to know something? I was going to drop an EP in a month from now, but I'm going to drop my album."

Releasing a full album is right on par for the course for Cardi, whose breakout hit “Bodak Yellow” was recently certified gold. The song has reached the No. 3 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and has been at number one in the Rap Hot 100 chart for a couple weeks. She’s relatively new to the music scene but already has friends in high places: she’s been invited to perform onstage at Drake’s OVO Fest, with Migos at Veld Festival, as well as with 21 Savage and G-Eazy.

Cardi has been enjoying her fast rise to fame, but according to JWhiteDIdIt, the man who produced her absolutely infectious hit “Bodak Yellow,” told Complex that “it feels amazing” to see “somebody like Cardi B, somebody who people wrote off time after time,” have one of the hottest songs in the country right now. He does not deny that Cardi has instant star power and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, but also stresses she’s a hard worker.

“All she does is work on her craft. I promise you, from the little Instagram videos she does, she has those headphones on and she be engaging beats. She’s treating it like she’s in the dang NFL or NBA,” he said.

If all of that’s true, then we can’t wait to hear her album. It'll followtwo volumes of her Gangsta Bitch Music series, where the second installment came out in January.
