The Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment has once again made history.

On Thursday, September 19, the school announced the official opening of its long-awaited Dolby Atmos studio on the Long Island University campus. According to a press release, the space spans 2,400 square feet and features a tracking room, four isolation booths, and a control room equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

This space, one of New York’s largest Dolby Atmos pro studios, was designed by Walters-Storyk Design Group and integrated by Pro Audio Design Inc. The companies teamed up with Grammy-winning producer Young Guru, who helped model the facility after Baseline Studios, the legendary home to some of Jay-Z’s earliest recordings.

“This new Dolby Atmos studio further solidifies our school’s place at the forefront of music education,” Guru said. “Every detail in the facility was methodically curated for our students and I’m excited for them to maximize their learning experience on campus and prepare to enter the workforce with an unprecedented advantage.”

The Roc Nation School will also use the facility for its masterclass series, in which notable industry figures will teach LIU students more about the recording and mixing processes.

“Dolby is proud to partner with Long Island University and Roc Nation School of Music, Sports and Entertainment,” said Christine Thomas, Head of Music Industry Relations at Dolby Laboratories. “This collaboration empowers the next generation of creatives with Dolby Atmos, furthering our commitment to education and the creative community. By combining Young Guru’s expertise, Roc Nation’s industry leadership, and LIU’s innovative programs, we’re creating a rewarding partnership that will shape the future of music production.”
