French Montana Celebrates Moroccan World Cup Team With New Song and Video

French shared the song and visual on Wednesday, following Morocco becoming the first African and Arab nation to make it to the World Cup semifinals.

French Montana continues to show love to his home country.

The 38-year-old rapper returned Wednesday with “Morocco,” an anthemic record celebrating the national soccer team’s historic World Cup run. The song coincided with the country’s semi-finals match against France. Though Morocco was ultimately defeated 0-2, the game was still a proud moment for Montana and other Moroccans, as it marked the first time an African nation made it to the final four.

“My head still gassed how far we came lol,” French wrote on Instagram. “No Moroccan in the world should be sad today. We shook the world up and we made history 🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦 Never been done before. So proud of the whole Moroccan team. And so proud of the whole country.”

You can stream “Morocco” now on Apple Music and Spotify, or check out the video via YouTube above. The visual includes highlights from the team’s World Cup 2022 journey, which will continue this weekend when they take on Croatia in the third-place match.

The song comes just days after French led a Morocco World Cup rally in Times Square. The festivities kicked off after the team bested Portugal 1-0 in the quarter finals.

“YOU AINT NEVER SEEN THIS MANY MOROCCANS IN 42nd street,” Montana captioned a clip of the massive rally. “NYC FEEL LIKE CASABLANCA RN.”
