Smiley and LB Spiffy Link for the First Time on "Name Brand"

The rising Toronto rappers link up for the first time on this new banger off the forthcoming 'Canada's Most Wanted' compilation album.

Smiley and LB Spiffy are two of Toronto’s most promising young rap acts, and while they’ve both been on a consistent rise over the last couple of years, we finally get to see them link up for their first joint effort. Their new collaborative track “Name Brand” is the next single from the forthcoming Canada’s Most Wanted album, the first compilation under the multi-album partnership between 6ixbuzz and Warner Music Canada.

The track comes with some ironic single artwork spoofing Canadian supermarket brand No Name.

"Name Brand" follows the success of “VVs,” the lead single featuring KILLY and the late Houdini, which released in April and has since racked up almost 3 million plays across Spotify and YouTube. Smiley and Spiffy trade verses with their respective trademark flows, with the former handling the song’s hook. The single arrives with a video directed by Orazio, who was also responsible for the “VVs” video, depicting the two rappers chilling in an empty Dundas Square, as well as stunting with a replica of the famous DMC DeLorean from Back to The Future.

Smiley and LB Spiffy both have a longstanding relationship with 6ixbuzz, both of them appearing on the first compilation, 6ixUpsideDown, that was self-released by the media platform in 2018. Spiffy also featured on a track on their second compilation, Northern Sound, released last year before the partnership with Warner came to fruition. The two have also been busy with their own individual projects, with Smiley having just dropped his mixtape YYZ-LAX at the end of May, and LB Spiffy finishing up an EP that is due to release this summer.
