Don’t you love when an international rap collab just makes sense?
Today, Complex UK premieres the music video for “Written In Stone”, a link-up between two rap risers: London’s RIGGA and Toronto’s Prophet. The track came together after Prophet caught the Complex UK premiere of RIGGA’s “Gengar”—a full-circle moment that sparked the connection. A few DMs later, a beat with an open verse was sent over to RIGGA, and within hours, he fired his verse back and “Written In Stone” was officially born.
Despite being from opposite sides of the Atlantic, the contrast in flows, delivery and accents immediately clicked, making it a no-brainer for RIGGA and Prophet to link up and bring the track to life on screen. With Toronto being Prophet’s home city—and a place long connected to London culture—the location just felt natural. The video, directed by Toronto’s RX Visuals, is raw and stripped-back, perfectly matching the weight and grit of the track.
“‘Written In Stone’ was always a record I had high hopes for,” says Prophet. “Based on the cadence the production brought out of me, I knew that up until the link-up with RIGGA, it had to be set aside for the ‘right artist’ and, in turn, the right opportunity for both sides. Safe to say we didn’t let this chance to show what we’re both capable of slide, and in due time, the world should be able to see that—lyrically, amongst a plethora of other things—Prophet and RIGGA are forces to be reckoned with in this industry.”
He continued: “My mixtape, One & Only—with 18-plus brand new songs—will be released before the end of February. With this record taking the lead for 2026, the viewers should know that I’m just getting started and I’ll be sending out hits and new visuals throughout the year. I’ve learned that consistency is key, and I plan on letting the music put that on full display.”
RIGGA added: “As soon as I heard the track and what Prophet had already done on it, I knew immediately I wanted to be involved. Everything was organic; my verse was written within an hour! I think it’s important for artists to collaborate, and hopefully people seeing this can bridge the gap and open more artists up to the idea of it. As for the rest of 2026, I’ve got a lot of unreleased work in the pipeline: a solo project, a bunch of singles, and a joint project with Swedish producer Sav. I’m excited to get this music out.”
