Harrd Luck & Oskama Esteban’s “U Remind Me” Is An Essential Listen

Paterson, New Jersey... Stand up!

We may have just found a new entry for our Best Songs About Selling Drugs list.

It’s highly unlikely Usher ever imagined “U Remind Me”, his 2001 smash, would one day be flipped into a song about serving fiends in New Jersey, but here we are: Harrd Luck and Oskama Esteban, two up-and-coming rappers from the Garden State, just dropped the visuals for their hard-hitting rework of the R&B hit, and it’s one you’ll probably find yourself going back to (just like I have all weekend).

The track highlights both rappers’ lyrical abilities perfectly: Harrd Luck’s rugged but polished flow blends seamlessly with Oskama Esteban’s laid-back steez, giving the track even more personality; they sound so locked-in you’d think they were a proper duo. Instead of turning it into something that glorifies drug-dealing, they both approach it with a reflective edge, detailing their past hustles in a way that’s less celebratory but still catchy and fun to vibe out to.

Peep the FonzFilms-directed visuals above and be sure to add the song to your playlists. On the flipside, check out some of their previous joints together.
