Superstar Pride Reportedly Denied Bond in Connection to Fatal Shooting of His Barber

Superstar Pride has been denied bond after being charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a man believed to be his barber, as reported by HotNewHipHop.

The Mississippi rapper surrendered to authorities after investigators identified him as a suspect in the death of 40-year-old Marcus Wheatley, according to Fox 13 Memphis. The Panola County Sheriff's Office were called to respond to a shooting inside a home where Wheatley's body was discovered with several gunshot wounds.

Wheatley's grandmother Mary Ann Strong tells WREG that she was present when Superstar Pride entered her grandson's home and chased him outside with a gun. Strong said she not only saw when Wheatley, whom she called Pride's barber, was shot in the field, but was also threatened by the rapper.

"He fell here and he shot about three times after he fell and he walked over to me and he pointed the gun at me and asked if I was going to tell it,” she recalls.

Strong said Pride went back to Wheatley's body and fired one more shot in his head before leaving in a red pickup truck, which was later abandoned.

Superstar Pride's father Jeffery Anderson declined to speculate about what led to the fatal shooting, saying, "As of right now, it's just too early."

Strong believes the two had a falling out over Wheatley declining to participate in Pride's upcoming video shoot.
