Rihanna attended her first public event Friday night since revealing she’s expecting her first child with boyfriend ASAP Rocky.
The multi-hyphenate spoke with Entertainment Tonight about her pregnancy while on the red carpet ahead of the L.A. outing celebrating Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin. “It’s all an exciting journey so far,” she said. “I’m just taking it as it comes every week. There’s always something new and I’m just taking it and I’m enjoying it.” She also joked about loving “donuts, so far.”
Rihanna announced her pregnancy late last month wearing a long pink jacket that showed off her baby bump. “It’s a long nine to 10 months. You have to enjoy it,” she said of incorporating fashion into her pregnancy.
“I’m trying to enjoy it as much as I could. And fashion is one of my favorite things, so, you know, we’re defying what it even means to be pregnant and maternal,” she continued, adding with a laugh, “It can get uncomfortable at times and so you can dress the part and pretend.”
“I’m just excited for what I don’t know yet. Everything is new to me,” Rocky said. “So, I’m excited.”
Whenever anyone talks about Rihanna, questions about new music are never too far behind since her last studio album Anti came out in 2016. Rihanna assured fans that while she has assumed a “one thing at a time” approach at the moment, she hasn’t moved away from making music. “Yes, you’re still going to get music from me,” she said.
