Pooh Shiesty’s Father Argues for His Release on Bond

Pooh Shiesty’s father Lontrell Williams Sr. has submitted a brief arguing why he should be granted bond after the order stayed earlier this month.

Williams asserted the government cannot provide “clear and convincing evidence” proving that it is necessary for him to remain behind bars, according to documents reviewed by Complex. Williams also cited Judge Christoff’s ruling in favor of his release, despite his criminal history, after taking into consideration the “history and characteristics of the person.”

Williams argues that the government needs to show that he poses an actual danger to the community and Christoff’s decision dispels that claim.

Williams also disputed his level of involvement in the incident where Gucci Mane was allegedly robbed at a Dallas recording studio, and forced at gunpoint to sign paperwork releasing Pooh from his contract with 1017 Records. Williams disputes the claim that he was “present” in the recording studio and directed that Gucci “be forced to date his signature.”

“But as Judge Christoff observed, even in a light most favorable to the government, this evidence only shows that Mr. Williams, at most, ‘stood by and let it happen,’” court docs read.
