Offset Responds to Cardi B Allegedly Getting Choked Out By NYPD

Offset speaks with TMZ about the situation involving his girlfriend Cardi B and an NYPD officer.

Cardi B revealed in a series of tweets, which have since been deleted, that she was placed in a chokehold by an NYPD officer Tuesday night. Cardi didn't provide any further details other than confirm that the officer who allegedly assaulted her was white.

TMZ reached out to Cardi B's boyfriend Offset to find what he knew about the matter. The Migos member says he initially thought his girlfriend was joking around when she reached out to him following the incident. "At first, when she called, I ain't think she was being serious until I had seen it on her face," he admits. "I was like, 'The police can't put their hands on you.'"

"It was supposed to be two other dudes...they ain't touch the dudes that were fighting, they touched her, so I don't understand what was going on," Offset said. "I know you can't stop the police. The police kill people everyday and get away with it."

When asked about the existence of the hip-hop cops, Offset didn't miss a beat confirming that there really is such a thing. "The hip-hop police? Oh yeah, they're real, for sure," he responded. Offset has experienced first-hand police misconduct before, so his response shouldn't be a surprise here.

Considering what his girlfriend just went through about 24 hours ago, Offset seemed calm and composed while speaking with TMZ's Harvey Levin. Since there was no report written or citation issued, and Cardi isn't expected to take legal action in the foreseeable future, this may all be water under the bridge for all parties involved.
