A judge has approved a request from Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal team to expedite the appeals process, stemming from his 50-month prison sentence after being convicted of two counts of violating the Mann Act.

According to court documents viewed by Complex, oral arguments from both sides could begin in April 2026. Combs' legal team argued that moving up the date to start the appeals process was necessary due to the length of their client's sentence, and the possibility of him serving the entirety of his time behind bars while the appeal is pending.

Combs' legal team proposed that their opening brief would be due by Dec. 23, followed by the government submitting its response by Feb. 20. Combs' attorneys would respond by March 13. If a judge sticks to this schedule, that would mean oral arguments could get underway in April.

Combs was transferred to FCI Fort Dix, a low-security facility in New Jersey, on Oct. 30 to begin serving his 50-month sentence. A move to Fort Dix was requested by Combs' attorneys "in order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts."

Before Combs started serving his prison sentence, Donald Trump claimed the disgraced mogul requested a presidential pardon, but it was unclear if he was actually considering it.
