Jeymes Samuel is sure that "the best lunch" he's ever had in Los Angeles is at the home of Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
The director and musician, who also goes by The Bullitts, spoke with GQ about his visits to the couple's residence, which he and Jay Electronica call the "Three Course Carters."
"You have three courses of everything," he told the publication. "You have three courses of water. If you want a glass of water in the house, you have still, sparkling, and a touch of fruit. Just as the water’s dipping, you’ll see a hand come down, more water."
Samuel admitted he would stop by their home under the guise of a business trip, but in reality, he simply wanted to eat at his "favorite restaurant ever."
"So I’ll go around there, pretending I'm going there for business," he said. "But really I’ll just go around there for food. I always say it’s my favorite restaurant ever, Jay’s house. My favorite restaurant."
GQ senior associate editor Frazier Tharpe, who interviewed Jay-Z for GQ's latest cover story, took to X on Thursday (March 26) to share an excerpt from an older interview he did with Samuel, where the director raved about his time at the "Three Course Carters," but also included some praise for Regina King.
"In that house, you have three courses of everything," Samuel said at the time. "There's nothing you don't have three courses in. If you ask for water, you'll get still, sparking, and a glass with a touch of fruit. It's the best restaurant I've ever been to in my life, until I went to Regina King's house. Regina King is the best chef in the history of chefs."
Jay-Z was a producer on Netflix film The Harder They Fall, which was Samuel’s feature directorial debut, as well as his follow-up, The Book of Clarence.
