A rep for Sean "Diddy" Combs addressed a report claiming some of the disgraced mogul's employees have not been getting paid during his time behind bars.
"The reports are misleading. Mr. Combs is in complete control of his personal and business finances," Juda Engelmayer said in statement, obtained by Us Weekly. "Payroll and vendor payments are handled through standard business and accounting processes, with routine review and verification before payouts are made. There is no unusual restriction on finances and no basis for claims that payments are being improperly withheld."
Sources tell TMZ that some of the attorneys handling Combs' lawsuits and other staffers have not been paid. At least one employee reportedly quit due to the alleged lack of compensation.
Insiders allege the business management firm Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group is handling Combs' finances and keeping close tabs on how his money is spent. According to TMZ, even Combs' family members are expected to submit an invoice to Tri Star when they have exceeded their budget, which isn't always approved.
Sources cite an alleged incident where Combs wanted his family to get together for dinner the night before his sentencing, but when the time came to pay the bill, Tri Star requested an invoice, which was declined. The firm eventually reimbursed the person who footed the bill.
Combs is currently serving 50 months, with time served, behind bars after being found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
