Dave Chappelle Shouts Out A Tribe Called Quest Over Grammys Snub

Dave Chappelle took a subtle shot at the Grammys for snubbing A Tribe Called Quest for, at least, the Best Rap Album category.

Before presenting the award for Best Rap Album at this year's Grammys, Dave Chappelle gave a brief shout out to A Tribe Called Quest, who didn't receive a nomination for their sixth and final project We got it from Here... Thank You 4 Your service. "Hip-hop, make some noise for A Tribe Called Quest," Chappelle said. "Can we kick it?"

After the nominations were revealed, Q-Tip went on Instagram this past November to express his frustration over getting snubbed by the Grammys after their affecting performance directed at Donald Trump and his travel ban.

"We were the most black, cultured group out," he said. "That’s all we stood on. That’s what we represented, This last Tribe album, this stands with everyone else’s shit that’s up there. I don’t give a fuck."
