Everyone was fair game for Chelsea Handler at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday, including her ex 50 Cent.
Handler poked fun at 50, bringing up his involvement on the Netflix docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning. "The cast of KPop Demon Hunters is here," Handler told the audience, as transcribed by The Hollywood Reporter, "not to be confused with Netflix's other music movie, 50 Cent: Diddy Hunter."
The TV and entertainment mogul served as executive producer on Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which was called "a shameful hit piece" by a spokesperson for Diddy. The rep also took issue with 50 Cent being attached to the project, saying he's "a longtime adversary with a personal vendetta."
In an interview with Robin Roberts for Good Morning America, 50 attempted to downplay criticism of his involvement in the docuseries.
"What they considering a preexisting beef, for twenty years… [It's] me being uncomfortable with him suggesting that he takes me shopping," he said. "It was like a tester. Like, 'Maybe you'll come play with me.' And… It's not personal."
Over the past year, 50 has been consistently taking shots online at Combs, bringing up the disgraced mogul's ties to baby oil, posting AI-generated images of himself as every single member of the jury in his federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial, and sharing an AI-assisted birthday post that included a leaked photo of an incarcerated Diddy, to name a few.
Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix for two counts of violating the Mann Act.
50 and Handler dated for two months over a decade ago. Even though she has cracked jokes about him before, the comedian seems to fondly look back at their time together.
"He was beautiful, he was a sweetheart, he was so sweet," Handler said of him on Call Her Daddy last year, to which 50 responded on Instagram, "I love me some you girl."
