Am I the Drama?, the long-awaited sophomore album from Cardi B, was announced earlier this week, and features a few familiar tracks, including "WAP" featuring Megan Thee Stallion and “Up.”

Cardi took to the platform formerly known as Twitter on Wednesday to address critics of her decision to include two chart-topping songs—both released at least four years ago—on her forthcoming album.

The “Outside” rapper explained that “WAP” and “Up” are “two of my biggest songs,” and “deserve a home.” Following the release of her debut album Invasion of Privacy in 2018, Cardi has dropped a single here and a feature there as her fans eagerly anticipated her next full body of work.

“I let haters make me not submit WAP for the Grammys and at this point I’m giving my fans what they want!” she wrote.

Cardi directly responded to any suspicions that she added “WAP” and “Up” to boost her debut weeks sales for Am I the Drama? “These two songs don’t even count for first week sales so what yall even crying about???” she wrote. “Do ya say anything when all these artist pull out all their little trucks and ponies to sell out???”

“Exactly….Now let them eat cake,” she concluded. “Go cry about it!!!” Am I the Drama? will be released on Sept. 19.

Cardi was vocal on Instagram earlier this week—not about music, but about how she coped with life after her divorce. In a recent Instagram Live video, Cardi first discussed the staggered release strategy she plans to use for the physical editions of her newly announced album. Later in her address, she thanked fans for their support of new single “Outside,” which inevitably gave way to some reflections on the importance of, to quote the song itself, “going out” after having been “cuffed up too long.”
