50 Cent is reportedly set to be the secret performer at the Executive Branch, the members-only club co-owned by Donald Trump Jr., on July 3.
50 Cent is set to become the latest hip-hop artist to perform at the Executive Branch, joining the likes of previous performers such as Busta Rhymes, Ja Rule and Timbaland, a source tells The Daily Beast.
His scheduled performance comes after 50 claimed in a 2024 appearance on The Breakfast Club that he turned down a $3 million offer to take the stage for a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City because he’s “afraid of politics.”
“I stay away from religion, I stay away from politics,” he said at the time. “That’s the formula for the confusion that has sent Kanye to Japan. He said something about both of those things and now he can only go to Japan. I don’t wanna get in that.”
Located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C., the Executive Branch, which charges a $500,000 annual membership fee, was co-founded by Trump Jr., as well as Omeed Malik and Christopher Buskirk of the venture firm 1789 Capital.
1789 Capital found itself under the microscope over its ties to Trump Jr., who was conveniently named a partner the same month that Trump won the 2024 U.S. presidential election, according to Reuters. Nearly a year after the election, the once low profile venture firm saw its assets skyrocket from $150 million to over $1 billion.
1789 Capital benefitted from recent investments in SpaceX, xAI and Neuralink, all of which were founded by Elon Musk, who met with Malik while Trump was on the campaign trail. The connections to Trump through his eldest son have raised concerns over a conflict of interest among government ethics specialists.
Those close to the firm tell Reuters that its portfolio includes defense contractors, and others companies that could profit off of its potential ties to the government.
1789 Capital further expanded with the launch of the Executive Branch last year.
