The Strokes Confirm New Music Is Coming Soon

The NYC band confirmed a new album last night at D.C.’s inaugural Landmark Festival.

The first annual Landmark Festival in Washington D.C. featured plenty of fireworks, with Miguel, CHVRCHES, Drake, and many more all taking the stage at some point during the weekend. Not to be outdone, NYC's own indie-rock staple, The Strokes, took to the National Mall last night to close out the fest, and while the band performed their most beloved hits during the hour long set, the real excitement came when lead singer Julian Casablancas revealed the group is working on new music. It will be the band's first release since 2013’s Comedown Machine.

If that wasn't enough of a hint, the wife of the Strokes guitarist Nick Valensi confirmed the news on her Twitter.

Full footage of their set, which includes the announcement, can be seen above.
