In a new interview with VladTVRoc-A-Fella co-founder Kareem 'Biggs' Burke explained exactly why Jay Z never recorded a Nas diss over BDP's "The Bridge Is Over" beat.

Biggs said Jay recorded "Super Ugly" and that on the way home, he had the idea for Jay to record over "The Bridge Is Over." "I was like 'Yo, 'The Bridge Is Over.' He was like, 'Yeah, that's it.' But when we called down to the studio, the song already went to Hot 97. So, they already started playing it so it was already, you know, too late." It turns out that Jay never even laid the verse down over the track's beat.

Biggs went on to give his take on the rapper's two prominent diss tracks. "'Takeover' is better than 'Ether,' but 'Ether' probably would be better than 'SuperUgly.' But, that's not the battle. The battle really is 'Takeover' 'Ether.'"

Of course, "Ether" was Nas' Stillmatic diss track aimed at Jay Z as a direct response to "Takeover."

The beef is behind the two rappers and Nas even said in a 2014 interview that he doesn't listen to either track anymore. Still, it only takes one look at the comments section to see both rapper's fans and hip-hop heads express their absolute opinion on who won that battle.

The rest of the interview with Biggs talking about his success in music and business. Check out the full interaction above and revisit Complex's list of "The 50 Best Hip-Hop Diss Songs" right here. As you might have guessed, both "Ether" and "Takeover" dominate the top of the list.
