Music legend Tina Turner, who died in 2023 at the age of 83, had four sons, including two she adopted with her then-husband, Ike Turner.
One of those adoptive sons, Ike Turner Jr., has died, leaving only one of Tina’s children still living.
According to TMZ, Ike Jr. died at the age of 67. His cause of death was kidney failure at a Los Angeles hospital, the outlet reported.
Confirmation of the death came to TMZ from Tina's niece, Jacqueline Bullock, who revealed that Ike Jr. died on October 5 after battling "severe heart issues for years," as well as the aftermath of a September stroke.
Ike Sr., is also deceased, having died in 2007. According to TMZ, Ike Jr. briefly worked as a sound engineer for Tina after she left Ike Sr.
According to Biography.com, Ike Jr. was one of Ike Sr.'s two sons who were adopted by Tina, although they eventually lost touch. He was the biological son of Ike Sr. and Lorraine Taylor, the site reported, adding that he was in a tribute band and won a Grammy award "as a producer for his father’s 2006 album Risin’ With the Blues."
Tina had two other sons named Craig and Ronnie Turner, but both died while the music legend was still alive, Biography.com reported. Ronnie died of colon cancer in 2022. He was Tina's only biological son with Ike Sr. When he died, she wrote on Instagram, "Ronnie, you left the world far too early. In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son."
Craig was her son with musician Raymond Hill, and she had him at age 18, the site reported, adding that he died of suicide at age 59 in 2018.
Michael Turner, Ike Sr.'s other son who was adopted by Tina, is still alive.
