XXXTentacion is a free man (sort of) now that a judge has granted his request to be released from house arrest.

XXXTentacion (real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy) was initially arrested in October 2016 for allegedly violently abusing his then-pregnant ex-girlfriend. After eventually being released, the Florida artist was sent back to jail when prosecutors filed new charges claiming he tried to coerce the woman into not testifying against him in court. He then received numerous additional felony charges in relation to the alleged witness tampering. X was released from prison in late December and placed on house arrest, which restricted him from being able to go on tour.

As he has been confined to his home for the past few months, X was not able to go on tour to promote his latest album. His lawyer, David Bogenschutz, told TMZ that his client's finances were suffering due to his travel restrictions, since touring is a main source of income for most artists these days. Bogenschutz continued, "hopefully these are the first steps towards complete freedom."

Even with his newfound freedom, XXXTentacion will still be required to complete drug tests on the regular and must submit his travel schedule in a timely fashion to his probation officer, terms that were already in place before his most recent arrest.
