On Thursday 19th March, Sprite took over East London to launch It’s That Fresh—a revamp and refresh for the brand that introduces a new platform focused on deeper connections with music, basketball, spicy food, fashion and street culture.
Hosted by Henrie Kwushue, the packed event brought all of that to life. There was a half-court and basketball net for guests to practice free throws, plus an appearance from Tobey McIntosh of Los Angeles–born skate collective Crenshaw Skate Club. On the music front, fans were spoilt with live performances. DJ sets from A Biz and Jada-Kai got things started with UK and US bangers, followed by a set from drill-pop star LeoStayTrill.
Little Simz—who made her selector debut last year at Southbank Centre for Meltdown Festival—then took to the decks, spinning a selection of soulful house and techno grooves. In a twist no one saw coming, Krept & Konan stormed the stage as the night’s headliners. Opening with “Freak Of The Week”, the South London rap duo delivered a high-energy set packed with nostalgic hits from across their career, right through to last year’s Young Kingz II album, before DJ OneTouch closed the night out with some rap and club heaters.
Another standout moment came with the official live debut of “Sprite Sound”, a brand-new track produced by one of rap’s most consistent hitmakers, DJ Mustard.
