Premiere: Rap Riser £MONZO Recruits Grime Icon Jme For “S.I.T PT 2”

Reload-worthy stuff.

Late last year, South London rap riser £MONZO released “S.I.T.”, a track that is fast becoming a calling card for her percussive, rapid-fire flow.

Produced by Amsterdam-based producer Lamsi, the collab came about in the weak of her self-produced “P.G.G. Freestyle”. Impressed by her production, which tied in lots of elements from grime’s raw, early years, Lamsi reached out with an offer to work together. Buoyed by the track’s long-term success, £MONZO took a punt and reached out to Jme via Twitter to see if he wanted to remix the track. As she explains below, she wasn’t sure the gamble would pay off.

Speaking with Complex UK about the track, £MONZO said: “Linking up with Lamsi for ‘S.I.T’, we knew we had something but would have never thought it would go to where it’s been going to the point of Jme seeing it. Jme really is amazing and he has been supporting from the jump. I tweeted that I wanted him to remix the track—I thought he didn’t see the tweet, but a few days later, the verse was in my inbox! I literally screamed. He was so on board to do visuals and anything else we needed; he’s one of the most genuine artists I’ve met. He’s really been a blessing to me and Lamsi.”

Watch exclusively above to see £MONZO and Jme trade double-time flows in the monochrome video for “S.I.T. PT 2”.
