If we've gathered one thing in 2014, it's that the future is musical. It seems like every possible genre-iteration has gotten a second life just with the addition of "future" as a prefix. Don't get me wrong, DAD is just as guilty of this, too, and it's exactly how I'd begin to describe Louis Futon's newest cut, "Cold Love;" a new soulful number featuring Jay Alexzander. It's got some perfectly spaced out percussion cutting right through a lush mix of ambient soundscapes and twinkling harmonies. This track follows up some previous rap and soul releases, but this is definitely my favorite to date.
