Yung Miami needed a small nudge from 50 Cent to get started in acting.

The rapper and podcast was a new guest on Shannon Sharpe's Club Shay Shay in an episode posted on Wednesday. During the interview, the City Girls member recalled her cameo on Black Mafia Family (also known as BMF), produced by Fifty.

While her portrayal of character Deanna was turned into a meme, it was Fif that encouraged Yung Miami, real name Caresha Brownlee, to ignore the haters.

Although Miami found the experience "fun," she admitted to being "nervous" due to playing "such a serious role." The character of Deanna had a confrontation with Meech (Demetrius 'Lil Meech' Flenory Jr.), who revealed that her partner was killed.

"I try to like tap into reality, like I said, like losing my child's father. My tears was real, but the emotion just [wasn't there]," Yung Miami told Sharpe. Her son's dad, Jai Malik Wiggins Jr., died from a fatal shooting in 2020.

The rapper claimed that she had 15 takes but initially didn't want her scenes to air until she spoke to Fif on the phone.

"I said, 'Fifty, I don't like this, it was horrible. Like, please don't put me out there like that. I don't wanna face no more backlash,'" Yung Miami recalled. "He was like, 'You gotta start from somewhere, this putting you in a game. People always have something to say. You gotta start from somewhere.

"'Get out your head, stop worrying about what the people gonna say,'" she continued. 'Like, this is gonna open doors for you.'"

Yung Miami has since gotten more comfortable on camera, hosting podcast Caresha Please along with having a cameo in 2023 Netflix comedy You People.

As for her interactions with Fif, they seem to be more about pleasure than business these days. The rapper and entertainment mogul also had a hilarious reaction to Yung Miami being named in a sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy last March.
