Police are reportedly investigating Trey Songz after the alleged assault of a photographer in Huntington, New York, over the weekend.

According to TMZ, the "Can't Be Friends" singer was at Huntington venue Ivy in the early hours of Sunday morning (July 13). Photographer Isaa Mansoor told the outlet that he was hired by the venue's owner to capture Songz as he performed at the event, but things reportedly went sideways. Mansoor recalled Songz being irritated when approached by fans for photos and videos.

When the Ivy owner requested that Mansoor shoot one last picture of Songz standing next to the venue's logo, the singer allegedly declined by erupting on the photographer.

Mansoor shared a video that seemed to depict Songz lunging at him. The photographer has accused the vocalist of punching him on the side of the head, throwing him against a wall, and damaging his two cameras. In the video, when the owner appears to intervene, Songz seems to say that he doesn't "give a fuck" that the two knew each other.

Both Songz and Mansoor fled the scene shortly after the alleged assault, with the photographer later contacting the authorities and going to the hospital. During his CT scan and X-rays, doctors found that Mansoor sustained a concussion, migraine, and ankle pain, which he was prescribed medication for.

Ted Anastasiou, a legal representative for the singer, issued a statement about the Ivy incident.

"The media is unfairly turning an unfinished story into click-bait to sell a new headline," it reads. "That’s lazy and unfair. What happened at The Ivy was the result of increasingly aggressive paparazzi invading an artist’s personal space, conduct that puts everyone at risk and a trend that’s impacting not just Trey but artists everywhere. Trey disputes the characterization of events, is cooperating fully with authorities, and looks forward to the facts, not speculation, speaking for themselves."

Songz, who has had a history of legal trouble and alleged violent outbursts, last squared up with a man who tried to approach him onstage in March. The confrontation ended quickly, with security pushing the man away.
