Tameka “Tiny” Harris and her fellow XSCAPE members tried to avoid The Notorious B.I.G. after he called them “ugly” on his 1994 track “Just Playing (Dreams).”

The song, a promotional single, appeared on later versions of the rapper’s seminal debut album, Ready to Die. On the latest episode of TV One’s Uncensored, Harris recounted Biggie apologizing to the group, although they initially brushed him off.

On the song’s second verse, Biggie rapped: “I'll fuck RuPaul before I fuck them ugly-ass XSCAPE bitches.”

“It's a terrible thing to have to hear, and everybody [would be] talking about it and whatever, but we didn't really care. We would cuss people out,” Harris recalled of the group’s reaction to the song.

The R&B singer-songwriter added that Biggie would attend XSCAPE shows when they were in the same town, and So So Def founder Jermaine Dupri would try to facilitate an apology.

“And everybody was like, ‘No, he can't bring his ass [in here]. He can't come in here,’ she explained. Everybody cussing him out. ‘No, we don't want to see him.’”

Eventually, Biggie ran into XSCAPE member Kandi Burruss and Harris at a party, to which the latter heard him out.

“He was basically apologizing. He was sorry for what he said. He was like, ‘Y'all are beautiful,’ Harris said. “But, anyway, we made up.”

Harris added that shortly after the conversation, Biggie was tragically murdered in Los Angeles in 1997. The rapper was 24 years old.

While visiting Atlanta radio show The Morning Hustle last year, Harris claimed that Biggie was gunned down roughly a half hour after they spoke.
