Tems Gives Her Man Back to the Streets in "Boy O Boy" Video

The singer literally laid her love interest on the pavement in the music video.

New meme alert.

Thanks to Tems' new music video for "Boy O Boy," women now have an anti-Valentine's Day GIF to represent giving their ex back to the streets. On Valentine's Day (Feb. 14), the Nigerian vocalist released a black and white Loris Russier-directed visual for her Born in the Wild track, which depicts Tems and her boyfriend at odds, with one scene showing her fantasizing about aiming a gun at him. But by the video's end, she chooses peace and lays her sleeping boyfriend in the road before returning home. On the track, Tems sings:

"You're a pain in my brain
I might stay up a little longer
You're killin' me, babe, I'm not playin'
You don dey do rubbish, you always do
I wonder how I loved a thing like you
'Cause I'm not really for you"

Of course, the video was hilarious to those on social media who understood the "belongs to the streets" message. The popular phrase was originated when Future, who sampled Tems on "Wait 4 U," said it in a wildly viral 2019 clip.

Earlier this month, Tems won her first solo Grammy in the Best African Music Performance category for "Love Me JeJe."
