Taylor Swift Says She’s ‘Completely in Shock’ After Three Children Fatally Stabbed at Dance Class Dedicated to Her Music

Taylor Swift expressed her sympathies after a shattering knife attack in the northwest England town of Southport on Monday. The incident, where three girls were fatally stabbed and eight other children were injured, five of whom are in critical condition, occured during a dance class dedicated to Swift's music.

"The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I’m just completely in shock," the 14-time Grammy winner wrote on Instagram.

"The loss of life and innocence and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, and first responders," she continued. "These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families."

According to the Mersey Police, the incident took place on Monday morning, with a report being made around 11:50 a.m. A male suspect has since been detained and taken to a police station, with a knife also being seized at the scene. Per TMZ, shortly after the altercation, two of the children were confirmed dead, while a third child died on Tuesday morning (July 30). Two adults, who tried to defend the children from the attacker, are currently in critical condition.

Roughly $198,000 USD has been raised for the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, while condolences have been given by King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.
