Sydney Sweeney intensified the drama on the HBO hit series Euphoria as character Cassie Howard. With the Sam Levinson-created show scheduled to begin filming its third and final season early next year. The 26-year-old actress recently told People that she’s “excited” to return as Cassie.

"I'm very excited to jump back into Cassie. She is definitely one of the most special characters for me and I love my Euphoria family, so I look forward to it," she told the publication.

As for the character's storyline, since season two ended with Cassie seemingly wanting to get revenge on her sister, Lexi (Maude Apatow), after being dumped by Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi), Sweeney wants Cassie to be "crazier."

"I love crazy Cassie, so the crazier, the better for me," she said.

With main stars Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie and the aforementioned Elordi and Apatow reportedly returning, shortly after the renewal announcement, The Hollywood Reporter published an exposé about alleged tension between Levinson and Zendaya.

Along with the devastating losses of late Euphoria actor Angus Cloud and producer Kevin Turen, the show was rocked by Levinson's focus on former musical drama The Idol, which Zendaya allegedly didn't want the filmmaker to work on.

On the flip side, it was reported that Levinson was disgruntled with Euphoria having to extend delays due to Zendaya's growing film career. "It was all about her," one source claimed. "Everybody wanted to make it about Sam, but it was her."
