Afropop vocalist Odeal says he didn’t know about changes to his dates as opening act on Summer Walker’s current tour.
Walker’s tour supporting her third album, Finally Over It, began on Tuesday (May 26), but some attendees noticed that Odeal was not an opener as previously billed.
Houston rapper Monaleo was also billed to open select dates of the tour, which continues through early August.
On Wednesday (May 27), Odeal posted an Instagram Story sharing his confusion about the tour arrangement. The “You’re Stuck” artist was originally scheduled to perform for the first 10 dates of the tour.
“I won't be performing on any Summer Walker tour shows before Dallas,” Odeal wrote. “This change was not made by me or my team. I'm sorry to everyone who was expecting to see me on these dates but l recently learned I will only be joining the tour from Dallas on June 17 and staying on through Vancouver on July 3.”
The British-Nigerian artist added that he “did everything” he possibly could to perform for fans who purchased tickets to dates before June 17.
“Know that I don't take that lightly. We're working on something special for you soon,” he continued. “Love always. New music soon.”
Following the Still Finally Over It Tour, Odeal is slated to hit the road with Kehlani for the European leg of her upcoming world tour. Concert dates will be announced on Friday.
