Miley Cyrus has opened up about a knee infection she once sustained that almost caused irreversible damage.
On Thursday (May 22), The "Something Beautiful" singer was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where she spoke about the knee infection which hospitalized her around the holidays last year. At the time, the three-time Grammy winner was filming the visual for "Walk of Fame" on the actual Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Around the 10-minute mark in the video below, Kimmel said that the visual "caught" his eye, making Cyrus joke, "I caught something."
"I filmed this video in October, and by November on Thanksgiving I was put in ICU for a moment," she said. "...My leg began to disintegrate within some way around the kneecap area."
The doctors asked Cyrus if she had "any idea" about how the "brutal" infection was caused, which led her to reflect on dancing on the ground for the "Walk of Fame" shoot.
"To have a surgeon look at you and say, 'Yuck.' Like, they open up like cadaavvers. They see inside the guts of humans and they're looking at me, telling me I'm disgusting," she joked.
Cyrus admitted that she filmed the Something Beautiful visual album on a "big dream and a small budget," with most of the budget being spent on clothes.
"Have you been to the Walk of Fame in the middle of the night?" Cyrus asked Kimmel. "I thought it was my last day."
Following the release of Something Beautiful on May 30, the film accompaniment debuts at Tribeca Film Festival on June 6 before going to select theaters in U.S. and Canada for a one-night-only showing on June 12.
Earlier this month, Miley Cyrus responded to reports that various family tensions had culminated in her mother, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, unfollowing her on Instagram.
The "Wrecking Ball" artist posted an Instagram story intended to put any speculation to rest by acknowledging that the unfollow was real, but saying that it was accidental.
"I rarely comment on rumors, but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us," the "Flowers" singer wrote. "Like a lot of moms, she doesn’t know how to work her phone and somehow unfollowed me — simple, coincidental, and uninteresting."
