Mariah the Scientist has her mind on marriage.

The Hearts Sold Separately artist, who's currently in a relationship with Young Thug, expressed her hopes of getting hitched during a sit-down with Angie Martinez on Saturday (December 13). Mariah, 28, has dated Thugger, 34, since 2021, the same year the artists collaborated on the single "Walked In."

Around the eight-minute mark of the video below, the R&B vocalist shared that she wants to "settle down" soon.

"I want to be married," Mariah said, adding, "I can't speak for everybody but that's what I'm doing."

Mariah added that she wants "at least one" child. "I'll start with that and see how I can manage," she continued before explaining why she's eager for marriage.

"I just want a commitment that doesn't involve an obligation to a baby," Mariah said. "I just want it to be out of love, not out of responsibility."

Mariah, who reconciled with Young Thug in October after a brief split, has been close to a stepmother to her boyfriend's six children. While visiting Hot 97 in August, the singer recalled it being a "dealbreaker" to date a man with children before getting involved with Thug.

"I feel like we have great relationships," Mariah told Hot 97's Nessa Diab. "I feel like we talk on the phone all day long. They be calling me before they call him and I'm like, 'Call your daddy.'"
