Lil Yachty fanned out after Eminem dissed him on 2018 song "The Ringer."
Seven years after the song was released, Lil Boat brought up Em during the Thursday (Nov. 20) episode of podcast Tea Time with Raven & Miranda.
The lyrics in question were: "Do you have any idea how much I hate this choppy flow/Everyone copies though?/Probably no/Get this fuckin' audio out my Audi yo, adios/I can see why people like Lil' Yachty, but not me though/Not even dissin', it just ain't for me/All I am simply is just an emcee."
But the verse was just enough to fascinate Yachty, as he recalled on the podcast. Around the 41-minute mark of the video below, Yachty, Raven-Symoném and her wife, Miranda Maday, discussed white rappers.
"Eminem actually dissed me, but I thought it was amazing," Yachty told the women. "I mean, if you say my name, it's like you could have said anyone's name. So, you saying my name, I'm like, 'That's kind of fire.'"
"The Ringer" appeared on Eminem's tenth album, Kamikaze, the same year that Yachty would drop two projects, Lil Boat 2 and Nuthin' 2 Prove. He added that Em mentioning him suggested that he was "at the top of the nobodies."
"It was just like, 'I understand why people listen to Yachty, but it's not for me though,'" Yachty recounted of Em's verse. "I wasn't mad at it at all. I was like, 'Fire.'"
Yachty added, "Any day of the week, I'll take it."
At the time, the rapper posted on social media that he was honored to get the mention, as pointed out by HotNewHipHop.
"Lmao me personally I think it’s fye Eminem took a shot at me.. I fuck wit Eminem," Yachty tweeted.
