Lil Yachty Says He Only Recently Listened to Jay-Z's 'Black Album' and 'Reasonable Doubt' for the First Time: 'He's An Insane Lyricist'

Don't expect Lil Yachty to hit "replay" on Jay-Z's The Black Album.

The Concrete Boys head was a guest on Andrew Schulz and Akaash Singh's Flagrant Podcast which dropped on Wednesday (July 31). Towards the end of the conversation, around the 1:13:00 mark of the video above, Yachty was asked about why he hasn't named Jay-Z as an artist he'd want to collaborate with. But the Atlanta native shared that he's still getting familiar with Hov's catalog.

"I listened to The Black Album for the first time, like, three days ago," he responded. "And then I listened to Reasonable Doubt."

But in Yachty's perspective, Jay-Z's 1996 debut album is the better of the two. "He's an insane lyricist," he continued. "I'm not a big fan of the live production, that type [of] sound, but I think he's sick. And I think the shit he talks about, it's like shit most people never actually get to experience in life."

While they've met once, Yachty said that he and Jay-Z never shared a "deep conversation" before, but it's Drake that he's been most impressed by.
