JT considers Lil Uzi Vert a "mentor" along with being her partner.
The City Cinderella rapper covers the new issue of Wonderland, and in the article, she lightly touched on her longtime relationship with the Eternal Atake 2 artist. JT and Lil Uzi Vert began dating in 2019, around the time the City Girls member served a year behind bars for aggravated identity theft.
"I’m so grateful to have him as a mentor and critic. He does not play with me. He ain’t gonna make me think everything is good," the "Girls Gone Wild" rapper told Wonderland.
“My boyfriend is such a Leo. He took the training wheels off my bike, that’s what I always say," JT continued. "At first he was helping me and pushing me, and then one day, he just decided, 'Dress yourself.' And then today, he DM’d me: 'I love your new direction.'"
JT, who's entered her solo career and "fashion girl" era since taking a hiatus from City Girls with Yung Miami, shared in the July issue of Cosmopolitan that she hopes to marry Uzi. She also recalled when the two officially met after her release from prison.
"I was fresh out of jail, I didn’t have my BBL yet—I was just jail thick. Then we just connected right away," she said. "I was in a halfway house and used to talk to him so much. And when I met him, he was such a good time. It was nothing I never experienced."
JT also referred to Uzi as her "best friend" and said they carry themselves "like a star."
