Jhene Aiko turned her pain into purpose to support frontline workers fighting the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
On Sunday (January 19), the Grammy-nominated singer's holistic wellness brand, Jhenetics, partnered with Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and Manly Handz mobile spa to bring relief to first responders who've bravely taken on the wildfires. On their base close to the Pacific Coast Highway, masseuses supplied with Jhenetics products helped first responders with their stress and muscle pain.
Jhenetics will continue holding relief stations at frontline posts, donation centers, shelters, and other locations throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. These stations will offer free massages, stress relief, and pain management services.
"With sudden change comes uncertainty, but we must remain grounded. These challenging times are an opportunity to be there for one another and build a stronger community," Jhenetics said in a press release. "Inspired by the support of family, friends, and community... we will adapt, regenerate, and move forward with intention and love."
The generous move comes roughly two weeks after Aiko lost her Palisades home amid the wildfires, which have raged across areas including the Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Malibu, Santa Monica and more. According to Cal Fire, 40,603 acres in L.A. have been burned, in addition to 15,467 structures destroyed and 27 confirmed fatalities.
Earlier this month, the "Alive & Well" artist shared on Instagram Stories that she was "praying for everyone" affected by the wildfires.
"Me and my children’s home is gone, burned to the ground with all of our things inside," Aiko said. The singer has two children, including a daughter, Namiko Love, 16, and a son, two-year-old Noah Hasani, whom she shares with Big Sean.
