The Game has explained that he wanted Kendrick Lamar's 2024 Pop Out concert to be peaceful, which is why he wasn't in attendance.

On the Friday (December 19), a little over a year after the historic Los Angeles show, the Documentary rapper recounted the event on BackonFigg's livestream podcast.

Popular West Coast artists like Dr. Dre, Tyler, the Creator, Steve Lacy and Mustard took to the stage during the Juneteenth concert, but The Game was noticeably absent, although he later explained not wanting to come.

Around the 1:52:00 mark of the BackOnFigg interview, Game said he wasn't present "on purpose" to avoid conflict with local enemies.

"It's too much gang politics with me when I come somewhere," he said. "It was n***as at the Pop Out that I don't fuck with. So, why go to the Pop Out? Bring my bring homies to the Pop Out, get into a confrontation at the Pop Out when a n***a is having a great moment, bro?"

While co-host T-Rell stressed that the event was about "unity," The Game disagreed. "You say that, but all it take is one n***a from this shit to get out of pocket with one n***a. And that's what comes with me," he continued.

The Compton native also said that he wouldn't fly solo at the Pop Out, although he didn't have concerns about his safety. "If something happened to me, whoever did it is getting smoked, n***a. Period. Because my shit is already in position," he said.

On those who questioned whether he was left off the invite list, The Game said he could "just go."

In his explanation about not being at the Pop Out, Game praised Kendrick for setting an "amazing" standard for West Coast artists, along with claiming that he was previously offered partial ownership of the rapper's former label, Top Dawg Entertainment.
