Funk Flex said he plans to address allegations that he got DJ Enuff fired from Hot 97, after the hip-hop station chose to let the DJ go after 27 years.
On Friday (August 29), Enuff (real name Ephrem Lopez) held his final show on the radio station. There to support the veteran DJ were DJ Khaled and Fat Joe, who called his friend's departure from Hot 97 "sad" in a quick chat with TMZ.
Enuff also spoke with the outlet and speculated that Flex was the cause of his firing. "I'm off the air. It's time for a new chapter," he told TMZ. "I don't think Flex is going anywhere. Flex is staying. He's just going to a new shift."
Enuff added that while he can't "prove" that Flex was behind his termination, he believes it in his "heart." "I don't deserve that from him," Enuff said. "He gave a lot of us the opportunity to do what we got to do."
Funk Flex reacted to the video just hours later on Instagram, explaining that he would share his side of the story on Monday (September 1).
"MONDAY! 7PM! I GOT A STORY TO TELL!" Flex captioned an Instagram post showing a screenshot from DJ Enuff's TMZ interview. "ALOT A PEOPLE HANGING IN THIS VIDEO! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I JUST TOLD YALL DONT PLAY WITH ME! NO NEED FOR COMMENTS! JOIN ME MONDAY! WE CONTINUE COMMENTS THEN!"
Flex previously announced that he'd be moving to the 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. slot after Labor Day, although some initially believed that he was planning to retire. The DJ's final show at the 7 p.m. to midnight slot will be on Monday.
Other Hot 97 shows Nessa on Air will move to 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., while Ebro in the Morning will shift to 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
