Eve Remembers Janet Jackson 'Saved My Life' After Being Drugged and ‘Hysterical’ at 2007 VMA Afterparty

While Janet Jackson might be at the center of controversy concerning her comments on Vice President Kamala Harris, rapper-actress Eve had good things to say about the "Alright" singer in her new memoir.

Following the release of Eve's book Who's That Girl?, readers poured over little-known facts about the Philadelphia native. Jay-Z once gave her a pep talk after she dropped her debut album, her time as a stripper was extremely brief, and she fought for her Gwen Stefani collaboration "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" to be heard by music execs.

Now, a segment from Who's That Girl? has circulated on social media, where Eve explained that during a 2007 MTV Video Music Awards afterparty, that Jackson once came to her rescue after her drink was spiked. Also, there was Missy Elliott, who assisted during the matter.

"Missy came in to check on me, but I was just unable to collect myself. Then who walks in, Janet Jackson," Eve wrote.

"I had never met her before, and so her first introduction to me was seeing me hysterical. None of that mattered to Janet; she actually just sprang into action and told people to get aspirin, water, hot sauce, and a piece of white bread. That concoction knocked me right out of my hysteria. So basically Janet Jackson saved my life."

Mental health and addiction organization Sandstone Care notes that it isn't recommended to allow a victim to consume anything after they're drugged, but fortunately, Jackson's formula was enough to relieve Eve.

The rapper mentioned the same incident on a 2018 episode of The Talk, saying that she began feeling "crazy" and disoriented roughly an hour after she drank.

"I heard this really soft voice that’s like, ‘It’s okay. It’s okay. I’ll take care of it.’ And, I’m snot crying. And, I turn around and it’s Janet Jackson," she said in the clip above.
