Eminem and Jelly Roll have us in our feelings thanks to their new music video for "Somebody Save Me."

The cathartic single tackles depression, true to Eminem’s decades-spanning catalog, and appears on his latest studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce). In the four-minute visual, Eminem shows throwback family footage, alongside eerie scenes of what seems to be the rapper looking back on his past. At the end of the video is a clip of his daughter, Hailie Jade, who got married in May.

"Someone Save Me" prominently samples Jelly Roll's "Save Me," which he acknowledged as an honor on Instagram last month.

"I related to every word Eminem wrote. I understand him and felt like he understood me, which was rare cause I spent most of my life feeling misunderstood," Jelly Roll wrote next to a photo of him and Eminem. "So you can imagine how I felt when I got that the call that Eminem would be sampling my song “Save Me” on his new album. And for him to use the song to discuss the other side of what could’ve happened if he would’ve allowed his demons to win brought me to tears."

The Death of Slim Shady was released on July 12, led by singles "Houdini" and "Tobey," featuring BabyTron and Big Sean.

Eminem also connected with Complex for Death of Slim Shady promo, appearing on the cover of our July 2024 cover story. In "conversation" with his Slim Shady alter-ego, Em, or Marshall Mathers, the two went head-to-head over nearly everything, from cancel culture to their earlier tracks, like "We Made You."
